Assignment #2

Image
Depth of Field With this photo, I really like how the Ace of Spades stands out from the rest of the deck of cards due to the shallow depth of field. In addition, I like how once I played around with the colors it made it look like something you would see at a magic show.  At first I was not really sure how I could edit this photo to get it how I wanted it. I like how once I edited this the tree bark is more of a brown color rather than what the original picture showed. I do however like the infinite depth of field. In this photo, I really like how the icicles are sharp and in focus. In addition, I really like how the background is nice and warm feeling while the icicles and snow are very cold feeling. Overall, this picture reminds me of the beauty of the cold.  With this picture I was not really sure I could get the effect I was wanting. However, I really like how it turned out once I got the placement of the shoes right. I like how the left shoe is in focus and the wor...

Assignment #2 Attempts

Photograph #1 The goal I was trying to accomplish with Photo #1 was I was trying to make the spark and flame from the lighter blurred. This particular picture reminds me of an advertisement you would see for a smoking campaign. When I first started editing this picture in color I had no idea how I wanted to edit it. As I got to playing around with it, I noticed that by making the hand and spark lighter it draws the focus to the blurred flame. I made the hand more of a red color and the flame more of a burning orange color. I really like how this photo turned out.   Photograph #2 In photograph #2, I used an infinite depth of field. I wanted to emphasize just how big the main tree was, which is in the middle and show how as the picture goes on the trees keep getting smaller and smaller. When I started editing this picture, I first went to the levels tool because there was not much of contrast. The image was very bright. In addition, the original image was very cyan colore...

Black & White Assignment #1

Image
The picture above is the original picture.       The perfect one in my opinion is the first one. I feel that it brings out the detail in the puppy's face. In addition, the puppy stands out from the background. The puppy is white and black, which contrasts from the grey background. I really like how it balances out the two.       In the first picture, I was trying to get the puppy to stand out from the grey background. To accomplish this, I used the levels tool and moved the triangles just a little. In the second picture, I was wanting to make it have more contrast. In order to accomplish this I first went to the levels tool and moved the black triangle up a little bit. I then went and dodged the puppy's ear, nose, and eyes. I did this so that the black could stand out more than the white part of the puppy. The goal for the third picture was to make the puppy's face stand out more than the rest of the picture. I also wanted to make the backg...
